HypZert celebrates 25th anniversary
More than 1,100 guests came to HypZert's anniversary Annual Convention. HypZert had invited its certified valuers and other guests to celebrate its 25th anniversary at two locations in Berlin.
The event opened on the afternoon of 29 June at the Hotel Berlin Central District near Potsdamer Platz. Reiner Lux, Managing Director since HypZert was founded, recalled milestones in the development of the certification body for real estate valuers and gave an outlook on the future of real estate valuation. "Living and building in the future" was also the topic of the inspiring key note speech by Oona Horx-Strathern from the Zukunftsinstitut. Flexible working and energy self-sufficiency are just two of the currently dominant topics.
Certification & Valuation Award
For the eleventh time since 2001, the HypZert CERTIFICATION & VALUATION AWARD was presented at the Annual Convention. Dr. Jan Peter Annecke, Head of Real Estate Finance at Helaba and Chairman of the HypZert Supervisory Board, and Raymond Trotz, founding father and former Chairman of the HypZert Supervisory Board, presented the award to Dr. Dieter Bärwald, representing the Board of Examiners for professionally appropriate, fair examinations and for maintaining the quality standards of HypZert valuers.
Night at the Museum
Musically accompanied by Julius Höhlich, composer of the already well-known HypZert Birthday Song, the German Museum of Technology, located a walk away, was the extraordinary location for the evening event. In the best summer weather, the five levels and two roof terraces of the museum could be used for extensive networking and get-togethers among colleagues. Amidst the technical treasures such as historic aircraft and ships, there were plenty of inspirations for discussions.
A seminar day packed with interesting topics
The following seminar day was opened by Jens Tolckmitt, vdp Chief Executive, later followed by Edward Au, WAVO President (World Association of Valuers Organisations) and Nick Talbot, CEO of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC). Once again, the topic of ESG recurred in various aspects throughout the other presentati ons: whether in terms of the EU taxonomy, the ecological and energetic quality of properties, the social responsibility and corporate governance of the real estate industry. All speakers emphasised their future importance for the appraisal industry - in addition to the challenges posed by the uncertain market situation and regulatory developments.
The day was then filled with presentations and panel discussions with experts and members of the HypZert Professional Groups Retail, Hospitality & Restaurant Industry, Energy & Environment, Agriculture, Residential, Logistics, Construction Monitoring, Office | Co-Working, as well as vdpResearch. The new tool monitor with demonstrations of valuation tools such as K.A.R.L.® and the vdpResearch's new property information system (LIS) was also well received, as was the opportunity to find out more about what our exhibitors have to offer.
We say thank you!
We would like to thank all participants, speakers, well-wishers, exhibitors and helpers for the successful event. We are particularly pleased about the enormous output of our Professional Groups, which presented no less than five new studies. The streaming of some of the lectures, which was offered at short notice, was also a success.
A selection of photos, the presentation slides as well as a recording of the stream and, of course, all the new studies can be found in your Valuers Corner under "My Annual Convention" and in the library.
